Use folds and retention tabs deliberately
Custom paperboard inserts can create supports, partitions and product-location features from a folded sheet. The layout should follow the product load and the operator’s assembly sequence. Review tabs, contact edges and access for removal on the selected board. A simple-looking paper insert may still need careful fold development to work consistently inside the outer box.
Use folds to support the actual load
Specify board grade, caliper and fold direction with the retention layout. The fitment may be plain or include reviewed printing where useful, but graphics should not interfere with product contact or assembly. Compare a trial in the actual outer box before accepting a board substitution. Flat delivery still needs a practical erection and loading sequence.
